Blood Tests
From time to time you may be required to have a blood test. This may be because of a condition for which you have consulted a doctor, regular monitoring of some diseases or because some medication levels in the body need to be checked.
Some blood tests require that you to fast (you may only drink water or unsweetened black tea and coffee from midnight before the test), the doctor or nurse will inform you of this. There are staff trained in phlebotomy (blood taking) who run clinics on Monday and Wednesday mornings between 9am-11.30am. Phlebotomy clinics also run at St Georges, Bolingbroke and St Thomas' Hospital.
You may telephone the practice for results between 2pm-4pm approximately 5 days after the test.
