Chronic Respiratory Disease Management

Respiratory Disease cover a range of conditions which include Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Emphysema, Bronchiectasis and Tuberculosis. These are chronic diseases of the lung and should be monitored regularly. Patients may initially be referred by the doctor for a spirometry (lung function) test to assess the severity of the condition. Once this has been established, the practice nurse will review patients at least annually depending on the control of symptoms.

If you have not seen a doctor or practice nurse in the past 12 months, you should make a double appointment with the practice nurse as soon as possible for a review, even if you are well.
